lol they do it to maximize profit, which is done every day in buissness everywhere in the world, especially when no regulation is involved ... Bush jr. cut regulation on wall street and look what happened, the F'ers purposly took as much as they could, running companies into the ground and almost the entire country... knowing exactly what they were doing and what could happen from it.
I imagine the sites know they are fueled by people w gambling addicitions and people who get bored and deposit 20$ at a time, off and on ... so they design a system to appease these people.
the people that dont understand this, dont know anything about buissness, look into the stock market, people run companies into the ground everyday to make money, when it folds u know what they do?... they make another company, lol
That argument thrown out is retarded. Its not my burden to prove the sites are on the up and up, they want me to give them my money, thats on them...
go give your money to offshore book, win a couple of big scores and see what happens... u get banned... but why? the book has no investment in winning and losing, they make money on the vig/juice 10%, people win and lose, it all evens out. Thats built into the buissness plan... HA!
Im sure there have been people who have made money playing online poker in a long run... Thoses people went on a heater, then got sponsorship to play for free or have figured out the system and molded a game to grind out some $, ie multi tabling, math programs, trackers, etc (thats not really poker, thats more like being a good penny stock trader).
Thats what most people are saying when they call the sites "Rigged"
and I do agree with ringo and eejit, the sites want the money to stay on the sites, and really the only way to combat cheating and make the game completly fair is to just set up situations w pre determined outcomes and spread those out evenly to the players ...
I think people use to make money on multi tableing, etc, but I think the sites curved it...
just like how the books use to allow you to bet on say The Blues -1.5 and parlay it with the over, cuz common sense would say that if the Blues won by 2 it would likely go over... they dont allow you to do that anymore
Here are my slightly more in depth thoughts....
I know a few people who work in the industry. As in for the sites. And I know for A FACT (Ive been shown) that older sites are blatently rigged. Jetset, PokerHost, those kind of sites. So are most of the old casinos. winnings not being paid, %'s changed.
But, the point in question here is Stars. Is Stars rigged?
Yes. But not much. I fully believe that lower raked table are not, for these is no point. Change your game list to show all full tables, and see how many there are. They are making millions (literally) off the rake.
However as you go up things change. I took stats on Chris Moneymaker in our session. Which ended when he ****ed me. He was either running hotter THAN THE SUN, or something was up.
Hand history is similar (exact) to this.
Me (BB) - AK diamonds.
Moneymaker (Button) - xx
Preflop - $5/$10 blinds. Both sat with around $2k.
Folds to moneymaker. He raised to $35. SB Folds. I raise to $105.
Moneymaker reraises to $275. I call.
Flop A J 6. I bet $400. He shoves. I call.
I show my AK. He shows.... J6.
Turn 2 River 4.
Yes this is only one hand. But my point is, its a $4,000+ hand. And I believe to this day I played the hand perfectly. This is not a cooler. It wasnt AA JJJ. Or A K J 6 6 on the board. Its just the only flop I go broke on.
Go figure that out
