depends on what type of water salt v fresh, how shallow, running or stagnent, temp ... in non moving deep cold water, its slower than on land, in a common river, non anchored in 70 degree weather, Im gonna say about twice as fast
decomposition bacteria is probably arobic, if it floating near the surface, in a dirty river, im guessing it decomposed faster because its exposed to more bacteria than on land, plus fish etc eating at it, creating portals of entry for the bacteria
in deep cold water, not being eaten by fish, the bacteria are anerobic, not use to having human bodies in the enviornemt, so they prob dont decompose them.
